Laurie became interested in body mechanics and healing in high school when she took her first yoga class. She felt so different after class, taller, more relaxed, buoyant even. She could see that the body had its own wisdom and the more she gave it what it seemed to want, the more her body craved what was wholesome. At the age of 16 she became a vegetarian, took Tai-Chi classes and, her first year in college she began to meditate. Conflicted about the direction she wanted to go with this interest, she left college and joined a spiritual community where she meditated twice a day, taught yoga, and studied nutrition. She became fascinated with physical health and how the body, mind, and spirit responded (in some cases immediately) to loving care.
She then went to massage school, which further fueled her interest in biomechanics and, soon after that, began chiropractic school.
Since graduating from Life Chiropractic College-West in 1986, Laurie has worked as a licensed chiropractor for over 25 years. She began her practice in the East Bay, where the college is located, and after a few years continued her work in Santa Cruz County where she now resides.
Also a licensed clinical massage therapist (CMT), Laurie has been able to combine the two healing sciences with excellent results.
Her home office is located in the heart of the redwoods and next to Soquel Creek. Surrounded by beauty and tranquility, clients can enjoy a calm, healing experience with each visit.
